Peter Nixon

Peter was born in 1956. He studied at Bath Academy, obtained a BA and worked in a shared studio experimenting with etching, lithography and serigraphy. With a background in Medeival and Greco Roman history he portrays his homage to the eternal beuaty of woman. He sees himself as part of the symbolist tradition, in that he considers the prime concern of art is not to depict but to suggest thoughts and and feelings by symbols. Once he has painted the central figures from the models in his studio, he then paints from memory to evoke a feeling or mood. Viewing his work one is swept into a world of primal emotion. A truly great artist his editions are eagerly awaited by collectors
